Growing Practices

BIODIVERSITY

In our soil, in our land, and in the trees, foliage, and native plants along our property – biodiversity is our greatest ally. We allow many plants to flower as food and forage for beneficial insects. We celebrate the raptors and resident hawks, and we look forward to continuing to learn more about our landscape and what role we can play in improving it.

SEEDS

Hammered Inn Farm and Garden buys exclusively from High Mowing Organic Seeds for each new season. Buying regionally adapted, organic varieties connects our farm to a sustainable food system, supports other organic farms, and encourages resiliency within our climate. We prioritize and wholeheartedly support seed farmers who maintain and improve open-pollinated varieties while focusing on flavor, beauty, and adaptive traits.
